Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge Specs, Features Review: Curved Edge May Appear On More Phones This Year
Samsung has announced yet another high-end device earlier this week when the Mobile World Congress kicked off.
While most people already knew a lot about the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, both devices are still interesting to look at when they were unveiled.
However, most tech websites claim that between the two high-end phones, the Galaxy S6 Edge will probably turn more heads, mainly due to its dual-curved display.
Make no mistake about it – both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge share the same specs. Both phones boast a 5-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, 3GB of RAM, an Exynos chipset, and several storage options.
The main difference between the two is the curved display of the latter. And it is not just any 'ordinary' curved edge like the one in the Galaxy Note Edge. The Galaxy S6 Edge has two curved edges – one on each side.
In a new report, the occurrence of curved displays may slowly be the staple for upcoming high-end smartphones from Samsung.
In an interview with a Samsung executive, he pointed out that the curved display technology will make its way to the Galaxy Note series once more. However, the phablet may also pack two curved edges.
Trying to bounce of a disappointing last quarter, Samsung aims to restore its place in the Asian market that is slowly being dominated by cheaper brands such as Xiaomi, Huawei, Lenovo or ZTE.
The Galaxy S6 flagship and S6 Edge may not be the perfect solution for most consumers, but they're already waiting for a device that shouts premium.
