Samsung Galaxy S7 Release Date Rumor: China Mobile Leaks Information that S7 Starts Selling in February 2016
Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to come next year, when exactly seemed to have been tipped during a recent press conference in China.
The press conference in question was held by China Mobile, "the world's largest telecommunications company," with over 800 million subscribers, according to Forbes. The conference was held a few days before Christmas, on Monday, Dec. 21.
The leak comes by way of images of a slide that were uploaded on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo. The images and the information they contained were initially picked up by Slashgear. According to the slide, Samsung Galaxy S7 will be on sale in February 2016.

Forbes notes that this accelerated release schedule, if true, is a significant change from Samsung's previous launch schedule. Samsung Galaxy S7's predecessor, the Galaxy S6, was unveiled in March 2014 and went on sale a month after.
The leak, however, does give credence to growing rumors of how Samsung wants to get ahead of Apple and its new iPhones by launching earlier.
This tactic is not new as Samsung has done something similar with its Galaxy Note 5. The South Korean company typically goes to the IFA trade show in Berlin to unveil its new Notes devices but not so in 2015. This year, Samsung decided to release the Note 5 a month earlier than Apple's iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, in an effort to better position its latest Note offering in the market.
If the information from China Mobile's internal presentation proves true, it would mean that the Samsung Galaxy S7 has a 10-month life cycle just like the Galaxy Note 4, which was replaced by the Note 5 in August. In addition, by launching in February, Samsung would give its Galaxy S7 a seven-month head start over Apple's iPhone 7, which is expected to release in September 2016.
