Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus to Hit the Market Starting April 21

Samsung has finally unveiled its much-awaited smartphones, the Galaxy S8 range. And based on the reviews, people are satisfied with the new features included in the package.

According to Know Your Mobile, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are more visually appealing than the previous versions with the removal of the Home button. The gadgets' AMOLED display is longer, with 18.5:9 aspect ratios. The Galaxy S8 has a 5.2-inch screen, while the Galaxy S8 Plus has a 6.2-inch one. Both are QHD+. This change is reportedly a step forward to a better video experience. Meanwhile, both phones also have a headphone jack and the fingerprint scanner placed at the rear.

According to DJ Koh, President of Mobile Communications Business, the Galaxy S8 range is Samsung's promise to only create the best smartphones.

"The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ usher in a new era of smartphone design and fantastic new services, opening up new ways to experience the world. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ are our testament to regaining your trust by redefining what's possible in safety and marks a new milestone in Samsung's smartphone legacy," Koh said, according to Samsung's press release.

Other features of the smartphones include an 8MP front camera and a 12MP Dual Pixel one at the back, both with F1.7 Aperture and Sony's new IMX333 sensor. Bixby, the all-new virtual assistant, has been integrated in the camera app as well. The batteries are the same as the Galaxy S7 range, 3000mAh and 3500mAh, respectively. Although similar in size, the batteries are expected to perform better than the previous ones. Samsung reportedly cannot take chances in including a bigger battery in trepidation that the Galaxy Note 7 exploding scenario might happen again.

In January, the Korean technology giant revealed that the noted cases of explosions involving the Note 7 were due to faulty batteries. According to PC Advisor, Samsung lost about $5 billion when they recalled all the devices in the market. Still, reports reveal that a refurbished version of the tablet will be reintroduced soon in the market.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will be available starting April 21.
