Samsung Galaxy Tab E Specs, Release Date: New Midrange Android Slate Announced in Taiwan
There are no shortages of Samsung phones and tablets in its target markets in Asia, but it looks like the Korean company still wants to refresh its current lineup of Android tablets.
According to a report by Phone Arena, Samsung has just unveiled a brand-new Android slate that is in the midrange category.
Dubbed as the Galaxy Tab E, the device packs a 9.6-inch TFT display with HD (800 x 1280) resolution, 1.5GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz, and 8GB of internal memory.
Bearing the model number SM-T560, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E also packs a Spreadtrum SC7730SE, although the report mentioned that the manufacturer has not yet confirmed this chipset. Other specs include a 5MP primary camera, 2MP front shooter, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
In the report, the device is said to be a Wi-Fi only model, although Samsung could also unveil a 3G and LTE model some time in the future, probably depending on the Galaxy Tab E's performance in the Asian market.
Rounding up the specs include a 5,000mAh battery, and Android Kit Kat, which is slightly disappointing since Lollipop already had a number of updates this year.
The device will reportedly cost around $225 in Taiwan and its other versions should be available before the month ends.
