Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 release date & specs revealed, deemed as lightest and thinnest tablet
Tech companies nowadays are in a constant competition of bringing out the best gadgets in the market. Samsung is no exception to that. In fact, the tech giant just launched two variants of the Galaxy Tab S2 in July, according to International Business Times. Galaxy Tab S2 is Samsung's new flagship in their line of tablets and it's a mobile computer that has been well thought of in terms of form and function.
Apparently, the new tablet is the current title holder of the lightest and thinnest tablet the world has seen, as reported by Observer. With a profile of just 5.5mm thick for both the 9.7-inch and 8.0 inch versions, the S2 tablet is 16 percent thinner than its predecessor. It also beat the previous world's thinnest Dell Venue 8 7840 by more than 8 percent.
Aside from being a winner in terms of form, it also comes with a Super AMOLED display that gives off deep, sharp and vibrant colors that users will surely appreciate. It carries a 2,048 x 1,536 pixels screen resolution and is powered by Samsung's Exynos chip along with an octa-core CPU that will seamlessly allow multi-tasking functions. The tablet will run on Android v5.0.2 Lollipop and will backed by 3GB of RAM.
The tablet will be available in black, white and gold and will carry a massive 5,870 mAh battery unit for the bigger version while the smaller one will have a 4,000 mAh unit. It will come with an 8-megapixel rear camera while the front snapper will be 2.1-megapixel.
Even with the device's lightweight and slim design, Samsung assures that the tablet is a premium one as it has been aimed to be the most powerful tablet they ever designed. The Verge revealed that Galaxy Tab S2 is now available for pre-order and will be hitting stores on Sept. 3.
