Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Release Date, Rumors & Updates: Latest Flagship Android Tablet Coming this September at IFA 2016? Specs & Price Details
Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is officially coming this September. Ahead of its actual release, the images and specs of the tech giant's latest flagship tablet already made the rounds on the internet.
Release Date
According to an official listing on the support section of Samsung's Columbian website, the South Korean multinational company will release the Galaxy Tab S3 alongside with the September launch of the Galaxy Note7 smartphone. The translated text of the announcement stated that the latest flagship tablet will possess similar qualities to Galaxy Tab S2 with some yet-to-be revealed innovations.
The entry did not specify the date of the release. But according to Tech Radar, the company will more likely drop the arrival of the new tablet at the Independent Financial Advisers (IFA) 2016 in Germany, which will run from Sept. 2-7. Samsung is reportedly holding a press conference at the event to introduce the Gear S3 smartwatch.
Aside from the possible announcement of Galaxy Tab S3 at the IFA 2016, there were speculations that it will come sooner than expected. Tech journalist Eldar Murtazin tweeted that the newest Android tablet will arrive on Sept. 1.
Rumored Specs: What to Expect
Samsung is yet to unveil the official specifications of Galaxy Tab S3. However, if the leaked image of Ray Arena is real, the newest tablet will look just like the Galaxy Tab S2 except for some slight alterations. The back cover appears different with the likely Sandstone finish.
The specifications of the leaked press image stated that Galaxy Tab S3 will be made up of an 8-inch AMOLED display, 3GB RAM, 1.8GHzQualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The internal memory is 32GB while the external memory can expand up to 128GB.
The latest tablet will also feature an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera. It will also come with a 4000 mAh battery.
Price Details
Tech Radar estimated that Galaxy Tab S3 will come with similar pricing to the Galaxy Tab S2 and will vary depending on the capacity of the storage. The cost of the latest tablet with the smallest storage is projected to be around US$399, £319 and AU$499.
Same Old Problems?
According to Daily Sun Knoxville, consumers should not expect that Galaxy Tab S3 will be a better model and will be at par with the Apple iPad and Microsoft Surface series. Since Samsung specified that it will share similar features with its predecessor, it might also share the same problems such as poor battery life and camera performance.
