Samsung 'Galaxy Unpacked' Event August 13, 2015 Live Stream: How to Watch Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge Plus Release Date, Specs Unveiling Online

A few weeks ago, Samsung sent out invites through social media to a big event on August 13. Called "Galaxy Unpacked," Samsung called on media and fans to "Note the Date," obviously referring to an announcement that has to do with one of Samsung's flagship phablets, the Galaxy Note.

A Tech Times report said that although Samsung does not mention what they will "unpack" during the event, most quarters are speculating that it will be when they will introduce the coming Galaxy Note 5, the successor of the phablet, Galaxy Note 4. It is also rumored that another S6 series phone will be unveiled during the event, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

Samsung's big-screen phone or phablet was very popular among consumers since they started this line of smartphones. The Galaxy Note 4 was selling quite well, but its success was overshadowed by the release of Apple's own big-screen phone, the iPhone 6 Plus.

This year, according to another report in The Verge, the Korean company is not taking any chances. First off, they are deviating from their usual September schedule for announcing new devices. The reason for this is that they are anticipating that Apple will unveil another new device during September as well. Moving up their announcement to August gives them a clear advantage over Apple who is rumored to introduce the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus.

Those who will be in New York on August 13 will be able watch the event live at the Alice Tully Hall of the Lincoln Center. Doors open for invitees at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, but the event will start at 11 a.m.

Samsung will be livestreaming the event for those who cannot attend. A link to the event will be made available on the Samsung Tomorrow website. Fans can also watch the event through the Samsung channel on YouTube.
