Samsung Gear 2 Neo Features and Specs Revealed
Smartwatches aren't unheard of, and before the unveiling of the Apple Watch or the hype of the Motorola Moto 360, Samsung had already been putting out wearable devices way ahead of its competitors. One of their most recent and well-received smartwatch is the Gear 2 Neo, which is a step up from the Gear 2.
Wearables haven't found much of a niche in the tech market other than simply being an extension of one's smartphone that can be worn on the wrist. Samsung, however, has been doing the wearable tech thing for long enough to know how to do it properly -- at least with the Gear 2 Neo.
The watch is its usual square-face type design and is made out of plastic instead of the Gear 2's aluminum. Since it's made out of a lighter material, the watch will feel somewhat lighter if not considerably. The company has also improved upon the design of the watch, opting to move the home button to the front of the watch instead of it being a protrusion on the sides.

Since the watch is simply an extension of the smartphone, there aren't many features on which it can sell itself. That isn't to say it doesn't have any features other than just being a notification screen, it does have some notable features.
An IR blaster can be located at the front of the watch, just above the display. The blaster can be used as a remote as long as the app for the device is available and can be tethered to the watch.
Samsung is also boasting about the extended battery life the Gear 2 Neo offers, with almost 2-3 days of continuous use without having to charge. One can even manage up to six days if all they do with the watch is check the time or notifications.
All in all, the Gear 2 Neo is not that bad of a smartwatch considering that it's cheaper (only coming in at around $200) than most other of Samsung's wearable models and can be used for at least a few days without having to continuously charge it.
