Samsung Gear VR Specs, Price, and Where to Buy: Samsung Promises Uses Optimum Movie and Gaming Experience
Samsung's most-awaited Gear VR is just a few clicks away as the device is now available for purchase.
Virtual reality is now available for the many fans who have been wanting to indulge in the world of gaming and movie watching without being disturbed by people passing by or friends having a drink. While Amazon and Best Buy are currently out of stock due to the many orders received, consumers are encouraged to proceed to Samsung's official website for orders.
Gizmag's review of the new headset reveals that potential buyers should no longer worry about weight. Those who are wondering if the Gear VR will leave the ears uncomfortable, the outlet says this shouldn't be an issue since the headset is much lighter than that of Innovator Editions.
With soft, grey pads to keep the eyes at rest while playing games, the Samsung headset just may be the most user-friendly one out in the market. The best is yet to come as the outlet says the issues on overheating that consumers complained of with the Note 4 Innovation Edition are resolved, meaning movie-watching can now be fully enjoyed.
However, there is one problem. Consumers will need a Samsung phone to use the gadget. On the other hand, those who own either a Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, or Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are all in since the mentioned phones are all compatible with the Gear VR.
Samsung's decision to allow only four of its smartphones to utilize the Gear VR has apparently disappointed some fans, but many are still willing to purchase any of the devices just to experience the thrill that comes with the highly technological headset.
While the virtual reality device from the Korean tech giant is spec-wise behind the HoloLens that Microsoft is working on, it passes up for a more entertaining experience than with usual headsets.
At $99 for a retail price, it's already a good piece to invest in since the HoloLens is probably 4 or 5 years away, and the Gear VR just may work fine until the Microsoft VR device crashes in town.
