Samsung Reveals its Thinnest Smartphone, the Galaxy A7
Samsung reveals its slimmest smartphone Galaxy A7 that measures 6.3 millimeters thick and weighs 141 grams.
The latest device from the South-Korean company is reportedly the answer to Apple's iPhone 6 Plus. Aside from the 5.5-inch screen, Samsung Galaxy A7 sports a metal case, which is a deviation from its previous models that had plastic covers. The display has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels with a 267 ppi pixel density.
As for the main camera of Samsung Galaxy A7, it boasts a 13 MP, 4128 x 3096 pixels complete with autofocus and LED flash. The front facing camera has 5MP and the video can record up to 1080p@30fps.
Added features are geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and panorama. There is an auto selfie feature wherein the Galaxy A7 automatically captures a picture when the user waves a hand or uses a voice command.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 runs with an 8-core application process and 2GB RAM. Samsung said that the processor is conducive for performing tasks efficiently and quickly. Users can choose between single-sim with Exynos 5430 or dual-sim with Qualcomm's Snapdragon MSM8x39.
The Exynos chip comes with one quad-core Cortex A15 at 1.8 gigahertz and one quad-core Cortex A7 at 1.3 gigahertz, while the Snapdragon brings two quad-core Cortex A53 processors at 1.5 gigahertz and 1 gigahertz.
Samsung Galaxy A7 internal memory is 16 GB but there is a micro SD card slot that can expand up to 64 GB, which is one of its advantage from iPhone 6 Plus. It has a non removable battery with Li-Ion 2600 mAh.
The latest Samsung gadget is available in midnight black, pearl white and champagne gold.
Samsung Galaxy A7 is reportedly available in the Russian Market for a price of RUB 31,990. It will reportedly be available in the U.S. and other countries this spring for $600.
