Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Specs and Features Review: Will Devices Impress Fans?
At the Unpacked event in New York City last Aug. 13, Samsung made good with its promise to unveil not just one but two new flagship devices. The star of the event was the newest Galaxy Note device, the Galaxy Note 5.
The device still sports a large screen at 5.7 inches with a Super AMOLED display. According to the report, it is Samsung's attempt to have a device with a large screen but with a small footprint. The new device also comes with a new curved design so that it does feel bulky or "unwieldy."
It comes powered with Samsung's own processor, the octa-core Exynos 7420 coupled with 4 GB of RAM. Internal storage has two variants, 32 GB and 64 GB. It packs a powerful 3,000 mAh battery, which is chargeable via wireless charging.

As the Note is a device known its handwriting capacity, it comes with an S-Pen and the necessary software to use this accessory. This time around the S-Pen is conveniently placed as an easily ejectable pen which makes it easy to put away as well. The S-Pen also has the ability to write even if the device's display is turned off.
Although not the star of the event, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus was likewise unveiled during the event. This new device has similar technical specifications as the Note 5. It has the same 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen and the same internal specs. The main difference is that the S6 Edge Plus has a dual-edged screen which gives it "improved viewing angles" and with Apps Edge, it offers "quick access to contacts and other info." It also does not have an S-Pen.
Pre-orders for both devices opened at 3 p.m. Eastern Time after the announcement was made. The devices will start shipping on August 21. Both devices will come pre-installed with the Samsung Pay mobile payment system, which will be usable by next month.
