Samuel L Jackson Supported Obama Due to His Race
Samuel L. Jackson, in a recent interview, admitted that he became a supporter and voted for Barack Obama in 2008 because of his race.
The outspoken Oscar-nominated actor, in an interview for Ebony magazine's March issue, stated that the reason to vote for President Obama had absolutely nothing to do with his political beliefs.
"I voted for Barack because he was black.'Cuz that's why other folks vote for other people, because they look like them," Jackson told Ebony magazine, as reported by the New York Post.

Jackson continued the rant, "that's American politics, pure and simple," he said. "[Obama's] message didn't mean **** to me. In the end, he's a politician. I just hoped he would do some of what he said he was gonna do."
While talking about President Obama's chances of re-election he stated that "I know politicians say ****; they lie 'Cuz they want to get elected."
Soon after that statement, Jackson went on a profanity laden tirade using the N-word repeatedly. The actor defended his use of that racially charged word by claiming that it was used at home while he was growing up and also he understands the context in which the word is said makes a big difference.
But he also knows that there is strong competition for the white house this year. 'I hope Obama gets scary in the next four years," Jackson added, "cuz he ain't gotta worry about getting re-elected."
In a separate interview with Newsweek published in January, the actor said he has mixed feelings about the President's performance so far.
"Some days I agree with Dr. [Cornel] West and what he says about the President not dealing enough with the plight of the poor," Jackson stated.
In President Obama's first campaign for presidency in 2008, Jackson was one of many celebrities who offered their time and support for him. Jackson even opted not to attend the Oscars in 2008 to help campaign for then presidential candidate.
