San Antonio Spurs News: Can Aldridge Help Spurs Regain NBA Title?
One of the most successful teams this off-season has been the San Antonio Spurs, who managed to get one of the premier players in the league today.
LaMarcus Aldridge, who is already approaching the prime of his career, has been the leading scorer and star player of the Portland Trailblazers for the past few years. His partnership with rookie sensation Damian Lillard further cemented him as the cornerstone for Rip City to finally reach the NBA Finals.
Unfortunately, the team's young and talented roster simply cannot find what it takes to get to the next level, and it seems Aldridge had enough.

Instead of working with a young team, the power forward decided to join a veteran squad who has been in the NBA Finals twice in the last three years.
But can Aldridge have the impact expected of him entering the 2015-16 season?
Throughout his career, the new Spurs star has been focusing on his reliable midrange jumper that forces defenses to commit, leaving his teammates open inside. Unfortunately, during his stint with Portland, he IS the threat on the paint as well.
As a result, Aldridge had to heavily rely on the jump shot, and hope it always goes in, which is of course, not possible.
However, with the Spurs, Aldridge will have a teammate who is a certified monster in the paint, Tim Duncan. Aldridge's midrange jumper would definitely benefit San Antonio's "beautiful" offense, whose strength lies in the ability of its players to make shots from almost anywhere in a half court set.
The former Portland player has also been working on his 3-point shot, and if he succeeds, he would surely get better looks in a San Antonio team that likes finding the open man.
"I see a lot of easy shots," Aldridge said in a recent interview. "Pop's really good at misdirection, and the team is so unselfish that the ball moves around. Everyone knows that. So I see a lot of easy shots."
