The Rockets are expecting more from their line-up as they return with their core still intact.

Dwight Howard and James Harden are still the undoubted stars in this team, but role players like Trevor Ariza, Ty Lawson and Terrence Jones will be asked to step up.

So far in the preseason, the Rockets have been mediocre with a 3-4 record.

However, one of their more impressive results early on was in a big win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

In the 120-100 victory, six players scored in double figures – with everyone from the starting line-up also getting more than 10 points.

Lawson had 18 points while also dishing out five assists in 27 minutes on the court, while Harden led in scoring with 20 points in almost 30 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, the Spurs have their stars in Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili still playing excellent basketball.

With the addition of players like David West and LaMarcus Aldridge, they are suiting up for a big season.

However, in the preseason, they have only been 1-4, with their lone win against the Detroit Pistons.

In the win, Kawhi Leonard scored 21 points and dished out four assists in a great game.

Expect the Spurs to try and turn up with a better performance against one of their local rivals.
