San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies takes place in the NBA Playoffs Western Conference Finals Game 4 on Monday night, with the Spurs already with the opportunity to closing out the series with a win tonight. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. PT and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Spurs have quickly and easily moved to a 3-0 series lead, which means they are on the brink of their first NBA Championship Finals game since 2007.
Early in Game 3 it looked like the Grizzlies had finally found some rhythm to their play and were at one point 18 points clear in the first quarter. However, rather than the Grizzlies finding their rhythm it proved to be simply that Spurs had a slow start, and in the second quarter San Antonio came storming back, meaning by half time the Grizzlies' lead had been cut to just four points.
The Grizzlies did well to stop the rot to an extent in the second half, and the game eventually went to overtime, but Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter dominated, with the pair combining to score 13 of the Spurs' 18 points, leading them to an emphatic 104-93 win.
Duncan ended the game with 24 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
If he can do the same tonight then it is highly likely that the Grizzlies will be bidding farewell to their postseason.
Given the disappointing end to Game 3, many teams could fold completely in Game 4, and disappear quietly into the night. However, Memphis are a team with a lot more pride than that, and they will be expected to fight tooth and nail to the very end.
They will have to be on top of their game tonight, and if they can snatch a win in Game 4 they will have to take it one win at a time to try and fight their way back into the series. Will that happen? Unlikely.
