Sandusky Letters: 'God's Light Has Warmed Me,' Calls Prison 'Unfairness'

Imprisoned former football coach Jerry Sandusky is communicating with people through long revealing letters that are being made public, and expressed faith in God as getting him through his sentence.

"God's light has warmed me with many letters of support and motivation," he wrote in a letter obtained by TMZ. "My plan is to continue this battle until the last whistle blows.

"My hope is to serve even better purposes. Each day, my goal is to embrace each day as a gift. Never surrender except to God. Don't let our circumstances get the best of us. Understand God's presence and purpose. Remain as positive as possible. Exercise your mind, body, and spirit," he continued.

Sandusky went on to write about finding a purpose and keeping busy while incarcerated.

"I've been quite confined, always searching for purpose. For now, my main purpose is to endure, learn from and grow [from] this experience. It is very challenging. I exercise, read, meditate and do a lot of writing. I've written and continue to write my account of what has happened," he explained.

The former Penn State coach has been convicted on 45 of 48 accounts of sexual abuse and assault on 10 boys while they played for him. Sandusky will serve 30 to 60 years in prison, which at the age of 69 will most likely be life. He also expressed disbelief in the very serious charges against him.

"An appeal is in process, but I don't know what to think. I would feel better if we could reveal all the information and unfairness," he wrote on June 16 and alleging that he has support from all over the country.

The entire Sandusky scandal has cost Penn State close to $48 million, ESPN reported.
