Sandusky Victim No. 1 to Reveal Identity in New Tell-All Book

Jerry Sandusky's "Victim No. 1" has signed a book deal, which will soon reveal his identity, a publisher has announced Thursday.

One of the key witnesses in the case of former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, who became known in court papers as "Victim No. 1," will break his silence and reveal details of his abuse at the hands of Sandusky in the new book.

The book, "Silent No More: Victim (hash)1's Fight for Justice Against Jerry Sandusky," is scheduled for release on Oct. 23, according to Ballantine Bantam Dell. The publisher has not revealed the financial details of the deal with the victim, but has announced that it plans to donate some money to a charity for victims of child abuse.

According to Ballantine, the book will be co-written by the victim's mother and psychologist and will "share how he survived years of shame and secrecy, harassment and accusation, before reporting Sandusky's actions to the authorities, and will offer a hopeful and inspiring message for victims of abuse."

"Victim No. 1" will also appear in an interview with ABC's Chris Cuomo on the day of the book's release.

"Victim No. 1" reported to authorities in 2008 about alleged abuse by Sandusky. It led to a massive investigation, and later 45 counts of sexual abuse were to be charged against the former Penn State assistant coach.

At Sandusky's trial, "Victim No. 1" testified for the prosecution and claimed that the coach had approached him throughout a summer youth camp. The abuse led the victim to break down emotionally and his grades suffered, he started getting into fights with relatives, and he admits that he started bed wetting. Eventually his mother became so worred she set up a meeting with school guidance counselors, which is the process that finally led to a police investigation and criminal charges being issues to Sandusky.

Jerry Sandusky is scheduled to be sentenced next month, with most predicting he will receive a sentence that will keep him imprisoned for the rest of his life.
