Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall Feud: 'Sex and the City' Stars Beefing Over SATC 3 Cancellation

Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall play long-term best friends on "Sex and the City" (SATC). In real life, however, the two actresses are reportedly feuding and the rift recently grew worse following the cancellation of the third movie.

Cattrall allegedly made outrageous demands from Warner Bros before she agreed to sign on for "Sex and the City 3," which would have started filming later this year. The studio refused her demands and decided not to pursue the third film if it won't have all of the main stars.

SATC has always featured four female central characters — Samantha Jones (Cattrall), Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon). The three women allegedly expressed their heartbreak following the studio's decision to drop "Sex and the City 3."

"We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story," Parker told Extra at a recent red carpet event. "It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie."

Cattrall, however, clarified that contrary to reports she only made one demand from Warner Bros, which was that she didn't want to do a third movie anymore. Cattrall tweeted that she and the studio discussed this in 2016, hence the recent news about SATC surprised her.

"This is really where I take to task the people from 'Sex and the City' and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer," Cattrall shot back at her co-star. "I don't know what her issue is, I never have," Cattrall further said.

Rumors that Parker and Cattrall never got along surfaced since the show debuted on HBO in 1998. Despite the rift, "Sex and the City" went on for six seasons until 2004 and had two movies featuring the four main stars.
