'Scandal' Season 5 Spoilers News: Shona Rhimes Says Season 5 Will See the 'Reconstitution' of Team OPA

The upcoming fifth season of ABC's hit political thriller and drama TV series "Scandal" will be going back to its roots.

Show creator Shonda Rhimes saying that Season 5 will find Olivia (Kerry Washington) huddling up her already-decimated Gladiators.

Rhimes admitted that Season 4 did sidelined a bit on the Gladiators because "we were busy healing" Olivia. The chapter also lost two key members of the firm with one going to the White House while the other was sent six feet below the ground.

"A lot of times it was just Huck and Quinn gladiating by themselves," Rhimes to TV Line. "And that wasn't the same dynamic."

This season, however, will feature the "reconstitution" of Team OPA.

The publication was quick to point out if the refocusing would also mean that the new series regular Cornelious Smith Jr. (as Marcus Walker) will fill one of the vacated seats. Rhimes said that she still has no idea as of the moment. However, the executive producer is quite sure that the character will reappear "later in the fall."

Earlier this month, Rhimes dropped in some big details for Season 5 during the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, California.

She said that fans will see Liv and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) the only people standing on their feet.

"The world had been fairly blown apart for everybody except Olivia and Fitz," Rhimes said. "Everybody else was in a fairly blown apart place ... We pick up right there in that environment and we see what's happens next."

"Cyrus (Jeff Perry) no longer working in the White House... Mellie (Bellamy Young) is no longer living in the White House, Jake said he was walking away... Quinn (Katie Lowes) was thinking about killing Huck (Guillermo Diaz) ... We pick up right there in that environment and we see what happens next," she went on to tease.

"Scandal" Season 5 premieres Sept. 24 on ABC.
