'Scandal' Season 5 Spoilers: Redemption in Upcoming Episode?

Following the rage of the public as Olivia (Kerry Washington) continues to be seen as the "seductress" of the big man in the White House, it seems some hope is in for someone in the upcoming episode of "Scandal."

This week, Olivia has been receiving a massive outpouring of rage from people who sympathized with the supposed First Lady, Mellie (Bellamy Young), after Olivia's affair with Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) was uncovered.

Episode 6 also saw Cyrus (Jeff Perry) delivering his ultimate plan of action to Fitz and Olivia in attempts of decreasing the negative attention and criticism that the couple are receiving from the media and the masses who still claim Mellie's rights as the First Lady.

Cyrus said there is only one way to appease the people and that is to get the two to tie the knot. However, things turn upside down and the two don't end up married and Fitz doesn't get impeached.

Variety notes that Mellie is the person who might have lost the battle among the three since she freed Rowan (Joe Morton), only to find out that he is Liv's father and the person responsible for her son's death.

Meanwhile, Heavy hints that a redemption may be on the way. It is unclear whose life will be redeemed in the episode titled "Even the Devil Deserves a Second Chance," but it seems Fitz will be focusing on ways to get the people's trust back. However, the outlet says Fitz will stumble upon some shocking news in the process of his comeback. What could it be?

Mellie, on the other hand, isn't the person who will just let everything go after she's been totally broken, first with the finalization of her divorce papers with Fitz, then freeing the man behind her son's death. Spoilers suggest that she may be planning something and it might be revealed in the upcoming episode.

"Scandal" season 5 episode 7 will air on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
