The upcoming season finale of the hit series "Scandal" will reveal the running mates of the presidential candidates.

Titled "That's My Girl," the season finale of "Scandal" Season 5 will finally show fans who the presidential candidates will have as their running mate. According to Carter Matt, the synopsis for the episode reveals that the vital announcement will put Olivia in an unfortunate position.

In addition, Cyrus will also have challenges of his own. He will receive details about the presidential race that has the potential of impacting the candidate's situation severely.

ABC also released a recent promotional video of the episode which hints at the big change that will happen once the running mates are revealed. With that, fans are hoping to see an explosive finale that will change the game for the presidential elections.

Bellamy Young, the actress who plays the role of Mellie Grant, one of the presidential candidates, shared some interesting details about the finale of "Scandal" season 5. She hinted that the finale will excite many fans.

According to InStyle, she said, "The season finale is nothing any of us could have anticipated or expected. It sets up Season 6 so brilliantly—and it is really a jaw-dropper. I think we're just bringing it home beautifully. This week's episode is the one that really got us in the table reads. We all cried, like, three times. It's a doozy of an episode, and a real gem."

While she did not share if her character will be the one to win the elections, she did say, "I hope with all my heart that she gets to be president, and I wish that she'd also get to know reciprocated love. But in Shondaland, things are a little more fun when they're a little less happy. So who knows what will happen."

"Scandal" Season 5 finale is expected to hit the small screens this May 12, 2016.
