'Scandal' Season 6 Updates: Cyrus' Cheating Scheme Will Have Millie Lose; A Bloodbath Season
"Scandal" Season 6 would once again feature Millie's (Bellamy Young) dreams of becoming the next President of The United States. It would also depict reality and her shattered dreams because of Cyrus' (Jeff Perry) move against her.
Election Day
In a report, showrunner Shonda Rhimes shared that Season 6 would start on Election Day. She stated that Millie and Frankie are the ones competing for the presidential seat. Once the show kicks off, fans will know right away who will win from the two candidates.
Given the former presumptions that Millie has plans in overtaking Frankie in the upcoming elections, it seems that it might not occur at all. For one, Rhimes added that the upcoming season centers on Millie facing a rude awakening after she realizes that the other party has chosen Cyrus to run as the vice-president instead.
Even though it is anticipated that Millie will have the confidence to win the race, there are underlying apprehensions regarding Cyrus' strategies which could outpace her in the upcoming elections.
One of the show's actors shared in a report that the news of Cyrus being a candidate for VP will send chills to everyone. Cyrus is already known to be a very dirty player. Also, everyone knows that he is capable of doing anything to get his own way.
A Bloodbath Season
Bellamy Young also hinted that the election in the upcoming season will be a "Bloodbath." Cyrus will play it dirty during the elections and will make sure Millie will not have the seat of power. She also stated that upon learning the truth, her character in the show might freak out.
It seems that Cyrus knows a lot about her and all her escapades. He may be the only factor that will cause Millie's downfall. Young added that even Olivia (Kerry Washington) will not be able to help Millie this time.
Cyrus was the one who worked on Frankie's nominations. He planned everything so when Frankie was shot, everyone sympathized and yet it was all a set up. In another report, Foley shared that Cyrus will be too hard to beat since being the former Chief of Staff of Fitz (Tony Goldwyn), he is well versed with how power works in the Oval Office.
Foley added that Cyrus is also gifted in getting the right people into his team and knows exactly how to play his cards well.
"Scandal" Season 6 will air in 2017 on ABC.
