Scarlett Johansson, Romain Dauriac Divorce Has Their Daughter Greatly Affected
When a marriage breaks apart, it becomes one nasty battle between the two warring parties. But when there is a child involved, the stakes get even higher as there is someone else who is facing a far more odious experience, and such may be the case for Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac's divorce.
Last week, Hollywood A-lister Scarlett Johansson has filed for divorce from her French husband, Romain Dauriac, in Manhattan Supreme Court, describing their marriage as "irretrievably broken," Page Six has learned. Along with this motion, she has also requested primary custody of Rose Dorothy Dauriac, their three-year-old daughter.
This move may have stemmed from the broken relationship, causing them to split two months ago due to differences in lifestyle, Us Weekly reports. During that time, the two had an amicable arrangement to both take care of their daughter, but it seems that is coming to an end as Johansson wants Rose for herself.
As far as lifestyle is concerned, it appears the main argument is Johansson having little time for the family as she frequently travels. It is known that she is starring in multiple films, and "Ghost in the Shell" is one of her most recent. With misunderstandings, the two are calling it quits.
When talking about how the news was received, Dauriac's lawyer, Hal Mayerson, tells ET that it came as a total shock. He explains that there have been undergoing settlements between the two, so it was surprising that the actress took a different route.
Moreover, Mayerson also says that his client is going to fight as well for the primary custody of the child, as he says he has, most of the time, been present for their daughter historically.
As for Johansson, she tells E! News that she will never be commenting on the issue and would like to settle things privately, thinking that her daughter will soon read about this in the future. "Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same. Thank you," she adds.
