'Scream Queens' cast and plot news: Jamie Lee Curtis said 'no' first to show, cast members predict killer

With the two-hour season premiere of "Scream Queens" coming close to schedule, fans are already excited to catch it on TV especially since they know that the American horror-comedy is packed with a star-studded cast. From Emma Roberts to Ariana Grande to Jamie Lee Curtis, "Scream Queens" is going to be a different kind of TV series that both gals and guys will love.

But even before show co-creator Ryan Murphy got to include Curtis to the cast, reports say that the iconic actress initially declined to take the role of Dean Cathy Munsch. According to Cinema Blend, Murphy particularly wanted Curtis to be part of his new show on Fox. And when the actress said no, he didn't stop there and was determined enough to make her agree by arranging the shooting schedule in a way that would accommodate the actress' schedule. So instead of doing a long duration shooting, Curtis will only need to head out to New Orleans twice a month by lumping her schedule into four- or five-day periods.

"We gave her a deal that I thought was very cool," Murphy says. "She was totally worth it to me."

Curtis revealed to Variety that the main reason why she first said no was because of other responsibilities at home and in her family that would not let her pack up right away and travel to New Orleans for months of shooting.

Meanwhile, the "Scream Queens" cast is one by one asked to pitch in their guess on who the mysterious "Red Devil" killer is. Emma Roberts, who will be playing as queen bee Chanel Oberlin, picks dorky, neck brace-wearing Hester, played by Lea Michele who also theorizes that the killer is definitely a girl. The former "Glee" star's answer contradicts with Skyler Samuels' (Grace Gardner) who thinks that Boone (Nick Jonas) is the one going around the Wallace University murdering people.

While the rest of the cast members have their own well-thought speculations, Ariana Grande, playing as Chanel #2, quips that Ryan Murphy is the killer. Everyone will just have to wait for the answer as "Scream Queens" debuts with a two-part pilot on Fox on Sept. 22.
