'Scream' TV Show News: MTV Gives Full Series Order for Show, Character Descriptions Revealed
Another scary TV show is about to make its debut next year as MTV has given the nod for a full series order for "Scream." The show is based on the popular 90's movie franchise from Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson.
According to TVLine, the first season will consist of 10 episodes. It has not been disclosed whether the most iconic character of the franchise—the killer known to fans as Ghostface—will be part of the show.
Just like the movies, the TV series will have teenagers as its main stars. "Scream" stars Willa Fitzgerald (Royal Pains), Bex Taylor- Klaus (Arrow), John Karna (Neighbors), Connor Weil (Kickin' It), Carlson Young (True Blood), Tracy Middendorf (The Last Ship), Joel Gretsch (Witches of East End) and newcomer Amadeus Serafini.
Here are the descriptions for the main characters of the show:
Emma Duvall (Fitzgerald): a 16-year old beauty "who's a little too intellectual to be a social butterfly" but is firmly established as part of the popular crowd. She has drifted away from her best friend Audrey but she has a close relationship with her mother.
Aubrey Jensen (Taylor-Klaus): Emma's former bestfriend. She is the bi-curious daughter of a Lutheran pastor and dreams of being a filmmaker.
Noah Foster (Karna): Aubrey's closest confidante, he is described as being very creative, brilliant, and tech-savvy enough to be the next Steve Jobs. He also has "an encyclopedic knowledge of books, films, TV, apps, etc."
Maggie Duvall (Middendorf): the town examiner and Emma's mother. She spends a lot of time trying to make up for the fact that Emma's father abandoned them. She's also said to be harboring a dark secret from her past.
"Scream" will have Wes Craven as one of its executive producers along with Harvey and Bob Weinstein. The show is slated to premiere on October 2015 on MTV.
