'Sea of Thieves' Release Date, News: One Day Left Before Special Xbox One S Is Sold

The Xbox-exclusive title "Sea of Thieves" is making waves in the gaming scene even before its official release. Yet apparently, the game is also making a difference when it comes to the lives of underprivileged children as a special Xbox One S is up for grabs.

The eBay UK listing for the "Sea of Thieves"-branded Xbox One S is up for auction and is said to only have three of them in the world. It has gained popularity quickly that as of this writing, the highest bid is currently at £990 ($1,226). With barely a day left before it gets sold, interested individuals will need to put their best foot forward in order to net this collector's item.

Perhaps the more enticing part of getting the item, no matter how expensive it is already at the moment, is the fact that one can help those in need. A hundred percent of the sale will go to Special Effect, a charitable organization that helps people with disabilities to enjoy video games as means of inclusion.

Aside from the fact that it has a special theme, the console has a hard drive capacity of 500 MB and will be able to ship worldwide with free standard delivery. This means anyone can try their luck if one has the money to duke it out with other bidders.

So what makes it special aside from the fact that one can help charity? It does have the normal specifications of any regular Xbox One S, but the special part is how it brings a sense of exclusivity, and that's something that doesn't have a price.

"Sea of Thieves" is a renowned game even before it hits the stores. In the latest Inn-side Story, Rare boasts about the open world of the game. As a matter of fact, it is so expansive that even the developers themselves can't wait to see what players make of the seemingly limitless possibilities.

"Sea of Thieves" is slated for release within 2017.
