Seattle Seahawks NFL Trade Rumors: Seahawks Host Ricky Jean-Francois, Arthur Brown

Well, it didn't take long for teams to express interest in defensive lineman Ricky Jean-Francois after he was released by the Washington Redskins.

NFL.com's has reported that the Seattle Seahawks are interested in Jean-Francois and they are bringing him in for a free-agent visit. Apparently, they are inviting former New York Jets linebacker Arthur Brown as well.

ESPN's Josina Anderson also confirmed the team would host Jean-Francois and she had a chat with the defensive tackle about how he would fit in with the Seahawks' defensive scheme.

"It would be great to get a chance to get out of a 3–4 and play in a 4–3, because I would get to use more of my skill-set and not be limited. In the 3–4, I feel like you can only do so much; but in a 4–3, I feel like you can get uphill more and disrupt the back field," he told Anderson.

There appears to be mutual interest between both sides. If he likes to play in a 4–3 defense, he's come to the right place.

Jean-Francois was selected in the seventh round of the 2009 National Football League (NFL) draft by San Francisco 49ers and he played with them for four seasons before he signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2013. He played for the Redskins for two seasons before they cut him on Wednesday. In 16 games last season, Jean-Francois had 32 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Those are not eye-popping numbers, but he has always been a durable option at defensive tackle.

"Jean-Francois has never had more than three sacks in a season but is known for his versatility. In the Seahawks' scheme, he would most likely fit as a rotational defensive tackle," ESPN's Sheil Kapadia said in his report.

Meanwhile, Brown was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2013 draft, but he has failed to live up to expectations.
