Seattle Seahawks vs St Louis Rams Live Stream: Watch NFL 2014 Football Online (NFL Playoffs Picture Preview, Fox TV Schedule)
The Seattle Seahawks will host the St Louis Rams on Sunday as the Seahawks look to lock down the number 1 seed placement for the Playoffs. A win today for Seattle would guarantee they take home field advantage throughout the postseason - a major plus in their mission to retain their Super Bowl title. The game will start at 4.25 p.m. ET and takes place from CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. The game will be shown on TV on the Fox network or online through live stream (details below).
The Seahawks come into this final weekend on 11-4 and are very much the NFL team in form. Their surge of five straight wins has seen them catch and leapfrog the Arizona Cardinals for top spot in the NFC West, and with it the top seed for the Playoffs in the NFC.
However, they still have work to do, and to guarantee themselves the top seeding they must make it a sixth straight win today.
Over recent weeks they have defeated the Arizona Cardinals twice, 19-3 in Week 12, and last week by an emphatic 35-6.
In between those wins they also defeated the San Francisco 49ers twice by 19-3 and again by 17-7, and also the Philadelphia Eagles 24-14.
Their recent surge has made them one of the favorites to make the Super Bowl again this season, and if anyone is to beat them then they will have to find a way to navigate past the tough Seahawks' defense, as well as shut down their number 1 ranked rush offense, where they are posting a massive 175.3 yards on average per game.
Coming into the final week of the regular season, all but two Playoff places have already been secured. However, those that have already secured their postseason berth still have a lot to play for, with all but one current Playoff team still having something to play for this weekend in the NFL.
The New England Patriots are the only team that has nothing to play for this Sunday; they have already guaranteed themselves the AFC East title as well as securing a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the postseason.
Even the Indianapolis Colts, who appear to have nothing much to play for, can still technically gain some advantage from winning today. If they defeat the Tennessee Titans, and the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers play out a tie, then they could secure the number 3 seed placing.
The Denver Broncos also still have something to play for - they have not yet secured the number 2 seeding in the AFC. They will want to win today, because if they lose to the Oakland Raiders, and the Bengals defeat the Steelers then the Bengals would steal the No. 2 seed spot, dumping the Broncos into the first round of the Playoffs. Most expect the Broncos to defeat the lowly Raiders though, and if they do that then they are guaranteed the second seeding and the first round bye for the Playoffs that comes with it.
In the NFC meanwhile, there are no seed placements guaranteed yet coming into the final weekend of the regular season. There are still four teams in the race for the number 1 seed, and five teams are vying for the number 2 seed.
The Dallas Cowboys could gain the top seed placing if things go their way today, and at the very worst they would have to settle for a number 3 seeding.
The number 4 seed will be between the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons. The pair of course will be playing one another today in a winner takes all match up.
The Seattle Seahawks are favorites to take the number 1 seed, and they will do so with a win over the St Louis Rams. However, if they fail to gain the win they need then the door opens for the Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.
The Seahawks and the Rams will start the game at 4.25 p.m. ET and the game can be watched on TV on the Fox network or online through live stream by clicking here.
