Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber 2017 News: Exes Hanging Out But Not Back Together Despite Split From The Weeknd

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are friends again.

The former couple was spotted by TMZ hanging out all day on Sunday. Published photographs show the pair having breakfast. According to the publication, Gomez and Bieber attended church together the same day. That night, the "Friends" singer was seen outside of his ex's house.

While some fans may be worried that The Weeknd will get jealous, several sources have told PEOPLE that he and Gomez have broken up. However, the reason behind their split is not Bieber.

"She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship," a source said. "It's been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn't easy on them."

Distance played a huge part in their breakup despite their efforts to try to spend time together. Earlier this year, the "Wolves" singer even flew to Vancouver where The Weeknd was scheduled to perform. However, it seems the pair are separating on good terms.

"It's over for now, but they're still in touch," the source continued.

But, even though Gomez and Bieber are not back together, it seems the Canadian crooner is determined to prove that he is not the same person as he was before. It can be recalled that the exes had an on-and-off relationship from 2011 to 2015.

"Justin is aware Selena's family is not thrilled they are hanging out. They think he caused Selena a lot of grief. Justin hopes he can prove to them that he has changed," a source close to Bieber told PEOPLE in a separate article. "He has changed a lot in the past few months. He is a very different person."

Bieber was previously linked to Colombian model Paola Paulin after they were spotted going to church together. However, sources claimed that the two were not exclusive.
