Selena Gomez Dating Austin Mahone After Justin Bieber Arrest? 'We're Just Friends'
Austin Mahone recently denied reports claiming he is dating Selena Gomez as the singer insists they are "just friends."
On Wednesday reports claimed the "Say Somethin" singer, 17, had been connected to Gomez, 21, by her best friend Taylor Swift in a bid to help the singer move on from Justin Bieber. Mahone and Gomez were reportedly spotted leaving the Beats Music concert at Los Angeles' Belasco Theatre together on Friday which fueled dating rumors however he insisted they are not romantically involved.
"Were just friends, she's really cool," Mahone told People magazine on Wednesday. "I mean, I think she's really pretty... every time I'm in L.A., she's like, 'Hey you're in L.A., lets hang out!' So it's cool."

Swift, who is reportedly not fond of Bieber, is said to have connected the former Disney star to Mahone last year following her split from Bieber. Gomez and Bieber dated for three years before their split, which left the "Come and Get It" singer heartbroken.
"Taylor loves Austin. She thinks he's adorable and knows that Justin is threatened by him. Getting him to hang out with Selena was her idea," a source told HollywoodLife.com last year.
"It's no secret she's not a fan of Justin anymore, so it seems pretty obvious why she'd want to push Austin and Selena together. Plus, Austin is the nicest guy," the insider continued. "He's so genuine — what you see is what you get. He doesn't party, he's humble and he's not taking any of this for granted."
Mahone's statement comes days after sources claimed Gomez was reduced to tears after seeing photos of Bieber and model Chantel Jeffries, both 19, together on the night of his Jan. 23 arrest. The singer and Bieber reunited for a segway date in early January and she was allegedly open to the possibility of a reconciliation however he appears to have recently moved on from Gomez for good with Jeffries.
"She was crying over Justin and him being with Chantel," an alleged eyewitness said.
