Sevilla vs Barcelona for Supercopa de Espana 2016 Game 2 Preview and Schedule: Barcelona to Ensure Sevilla Would Not Avenge First Leg Loss; TV Info and Live Stream Details

Barcelona managed to finish the first leg of the Super Cup Spain favorably by dispatching Sevilla in a match that is reminiscent of their last meeting in Copa del Rey Finals. However, another square off match is slated for the second leg that promises to be more exciting and unyielding.

First victory

To recall, Barcelona grabbed a hard-earned victory over their rival via two goals coming from Luis Suarez and Munir El Haddadi. The squad also fields in strongly with Sergi Roberto, Claudio Bravo, Javier Mascherano, Jeremy Mathieu and Gerard Pique lining in the front. Moreover, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta were in the midfield while Suarez, Arda Turan and Lionel Messi gears up for the attack.

The first leg showed Sevilla with too much possession but suffered problems in converting them into goals. The host seemed to be controlling the pace during the first half but in latter part, it surrendered the opportunities to the pressing Barcelona in the second half.

The nightmare began when Suarez benefited from the excellent ball exchange between Denis Suarez and Turan. Suarez managed to escape from Sergio Rico by finishing low after a brilliant chest pass. Sevilla's problem doubles when Munir came off the bench and received one from Messi, finishing with a first touch. Also, the hosts were not in a position to recover since then.

One notable observation during the first leg of the match was Barcelona's problem with the defense. Although they manage to retain a clean slate against Sevilla, if the matchup is against an all-offensive team like Manchester, the holes in the defense can pose a huge threat. Given the team's track record, they already lost to Liverpool, Leicaster and Celtics during the pre-season. For some, the loss should be more than enough to guide the team as well as pick up play lessons from its former games.

Second match

Thursday's edition for the second leg is expected to render a new hope for the team. The Sevilla team is called upon to regain their honor and execute revenge for their loss in Del Rey. Moreover, Barcelona needs to give an all-out game and counterattack with the same aggressiveness from the opposing team. Also, it seems that the team may just have to wait until November to see if Sevilla would succeed in avenging their defeat at their home turf.

The two squads are set to meet again this Thursday at 5 p.m. at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in Seville.

TV schedules for the US viewers are available at ESPN Deportes TV and ESPN2. The network is also providing a live radio coverage via ESPN Deportes Radio.
