'Shadowhunters' Season 1 Episode 6 Spoilers: Author Cassandra Clare Accused of Copyright Infringement
"Shadowhunters" author, Cassandra Clare, is now facing a lawsuit for copyright infringement.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Clare is being sued by another author, Sherrilyn Kenyon, for "trademark infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition, false advertising, and trade dress infringement." The lawsuit was filed by Kenyon for the loss profits of her "Dark Hunter" series due to the similarities of her works to that of Clare's.
Kenyon states that the similarities between her own work and Clare's "Shadowhunters" series are too uncanny, which are stated in the lawsuit filed. "Both the Dark Hunter series and the Shadowhunters series are about an elite band of warriors that must protect the human world from the unseen paranormal threat that seeks to destroy humans as they go about their daily lives. These hunters, whether 'dark' or 'shadow,' preserve the balance between good and evil, protecting humans from being consumed or enslaved," the article reads.

According to the website, Kenyon was assured by Clare and her publisher that they would not expand the words that have any reference to "hunter," but apparently, Clare continued to use the term "shadowhunter" in the film and TV series adaptations of "The Mortal Instruments."
Clare and her publisher have not made any comments yet about the lawsuit filed.
Meanwhile, in the next episode of "Shadowhunters," Luke (Isaiah Mustafa) will be in grave danger, according to Enstarz. Marcus (Harry Shum Jr.) will help him and he will also tell Clary (Katherine McNamara) about her mom, (Maxim Roy), Luke, and Valentine's (Alan Van Sprang) history. Fans are looking forward to see the three's story in the next episode, which is titled "Of Men and Angels."
Spoilers Guide posted the synopsis of the upcoming episode, and it reads, "With Luke in dire need of help, Jace, Clary and Simon take him to Magnus' lair in hopes of saving his life. Once there, the story of how Valentine came to be evil, and Jocelyn and Luke's past is revealed to Clary in hopes of triggering her memory of what happened to The Mortal Cup. Meanwhile, Isabelle and Alec are tasked to restore their family name in the eyes of The Clave."
