'Shameless' Season 7 Updates: Frank is Alive; June Squibb to Join the Show as Etta
Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) may be alive after he was thrown to the Chicago River as seen in the previous season. Season 7 of "Shameless" will have him wake up from comatose which was caused by the icy cold water.
Frank Survived
Season 6 finale left a major cliffhanger for fans as to what happened to the characters in the show. When Fiona (Emmy Rossum) was about to marry Sean (Dermot Mulroney), Frank suddenly barges in to the ceremony. He revealed that Sean has been under the influence of heroin. Sean immediately escaped the scene and this led to Frank being thrown to the river. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) has been sent off to rehab while Fiona was left alone in her wedding dress.
When Sean finally came back to find Fiona, he admitted that everything Frank said was true. They then decided to go on with their lives separately.
After the incident, Frank slipped into coma, but luckily woke up from it. He will be seeking revenge against the one responsible for his drowning.
Fiona, on the other hand, will enjoy being single for a while after her break up with Sean. However, her career may be affected by the sudden spilt. Whether it's for the better of for the worse, we will have to tune in.
New Characters to Join the Show
A new character named Etta will be introduced in Season 7. The role will be played by June Squibb, a recurring character of the show.
Etta is 80 years old and comes from the Southside of Chicago. It seems that she already owned the neighborhood for a long time. Reports state that it is not clear yet as to what the character will bring in to the show.
In other reports, Sharon Lawrence is set to play the role of Margo, a real estate tycoon, once the season kicks off. She will also be Fiona's new boss at a coffee shop that she owned.
Season 7 will have more twists to the story. Caleb (Jeff Pierre) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) were reported to break up in the show after Ian cheated on Caleb. This will pave the way for Ian and Mickey (Noel Fisher) to get close to each other again.
The Gallaghers will be back and Frank is set to find out who dumped him in the river. Fiona will find herself a new life, while Caleb and Ian will be moving on with their lives separately.
"Shameless" Season 7 will be back on October 2, 2016.
