Shannen Doherty 911 Call Over Suicidal Fan Released (AUDIO)

A 911 call made by Shannen Doherty concerning a suicidal fan was released on Sunday.

The "90210" star placed the call last month after a fan posted on her Twitter account that she was holding a gun and prepared to shoot herself. The 27-year-old fan was located in Westhampton, New Jersey.

During the recording, which was obtained by TMZ, Doherty can be heard trying to explain what she referred to as a "strange" situation.

"This is going to sound incredibly strange, as it does to me as well," told the 911 dispatcher. "My name is Shannen Doherty and I'm an actress. I'm on Twitter, sadly, and there is a girl that is threatening to shoot herself and she lives somewhere over there."

Doherty explained that she had called the dispatcher because she was uncertain about how to handle the situation.

"I have no idea the correct response, I am completely untrained to deal with someone threatening suicide especially over Twitter," she said. "She has stated she has a gun and she is going to shoot herself."

Despite the advice of her own security, the actress also went out of her way to make sure that the girl was okay.

"She is definitely not fully mentally capable at this point," Doherty added. "My security guys told me to block her because she is super aggressive and was very erratic - so they wanted me to block her - but I haven't done it because I felt bad for her to be honest."

The actress was able to assist dispatchers by persuading the 27-year-old girl to give her address. Meanwhile, the 911-operator admitted that other co-workers were excited to have an actress on the line.

"All my co-workers can't believe who I am on the phone with," the operator told the star.

"Well tell them hi and say thank you," she responded.

When police arrived at the girl's house, they discovered that she was not actually attempting to take her own life.
