Sharon Osbourne: Being Away From Kids Was 'Biggest Mistake I've Ever Made'
Sharon Osbourne, reality TV star and wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, has done a lot in her life, but she recently told Graham Norton that working so much was "the biggest mistake" of her life because it took her away from her children.
"We both worked to continue a lifestyle we had become accustomed to and we had to travel, so my kids spent quite a time away from us and you can never get that time back," Osbourne explained. "It was the biggest mistake I ever did, but would I have wanted to live a lesser life? You make the most of what you have. I don't know how, but Jack and Kelly came out just great."
Daughter Kelly is one of the hosts on "Fashion Police" and is considered a fashionista in her own right. She has battled addiction but come out on top and established a successful career. Brother Jack is married with one daughter; he revealed last year that he is battling multiple sclerosis but is doing well.
Addiction is no stranger to the Osbourne family: Ozzy himself has been in and out of treatment. He recently relapsed with alcohol, which nearly drove he and Sharon apart for good, but they stuck it out and are now reunited.
"It was the combination of drugs and drink and it was like, 'No, not again,' so I moved out," she told Norton. "We are back together and it is all down to him; he is on the 12 steps and he is clean and sober. He stopped because he knows what he was going to lose, not just me but everything. He says we're like bread and butter. We fit together so perfectly. We are a team, and the hardest thing I ever had to do was walk away."
The Osbournes have been married since 1982 and have been through several ups and downs throughout their relationship.
