Shasta County Released New Video of Sherri Papini Running From Her Captors

Shasta County Sheriff's Office released a new surveillance video depicting Sherri Papini running across a parking lot moments after she was released from her abduction. The local authorities are continuing to search for possible leads for the suspects of the Redding resident's abductors.

The video was located at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Woodland, and Papini was running away from the point of drop-off. She disappears out of view but reappears again, this time running in the direction of Interstate 5, where she was hailed a truck driver, who called for help. Papini was found with thick chains around her waist and hose clamps on her wrist. She was also battered and bruised after the beating she received. Furthermore, she had been in a near emaciated state.

"I don't think you can put a sticker or hallmark stamp on how much has gone into it, there's been a lot of work that we have exhausted, all legal investigative avenues," said Shasta County Sgt. Brian Jackson, as reported by CBS News. "We are working on several leads currently that we have not been able to rule out or discount, so leads we are actively looking at, and we are moving forward in hopes of catching the captors."

Los Angeles Times reported that one of Papini's captors had long, curly hair, a thick accent, and pierced ears. The second one was noticeably older, with straight and black hair. Both of the perpetrators spoke in Spanish. A reward of $10,000 has been posted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for anyone who can identify the kidnappers.

The kidnapping of Papini happened in Nov. 6, 2016, when she was abducted while she was out jogging. She was found by the truck driver on Interstate 5 three weeks later on Nov. 24, 2016. No arrests have been made to this time.
