Shovel Knight's Amiibo Release Date and Other News: Gamers Discouraged to Buy from Scalpers
The most-awaited Amiibo for Yacht Club Games' iconic hero "Shovel Knight" will finally be coming in January and details have also been given about what the Amiibo has to offer.
According to Polygon, the teaser for the upcoming Amiibo details how a player can use the figure with the Wii U version of the game. Additional customization options, as well as amazing weapons, will now be available. A co-op mode has also been integrated, while the local multiplayer mode will only be exclusive to those who own the figure.
While the figure comes out on Jan. 8, 2016 at only $12.99 for North American buyers, Europeans need not wait longer as it will be available on Dec. 11 for €14.99.
According to GameSpot, Yacht Club Games described their progress as an "agonizing" one as the team worked on providing the necessary items and systems needed for Shovel Knight's Amiibo. On the other hand, the team explained that the long wait was vital in the development stages as players will finally get a hold of a well-rounded figure to make their experiences much more worth it.
The team also said that they worked hard on resolving issues about fans having difficulty in finding their Amiibo of preference, getting in place for preorders, scalper problems, and other queries that fans complained of previously.
"Hopefully, this later date will make buying a Shovel Knight Amiibo easy and fair for everyone," the team said.
One of the important things to note when purchasing an Amiibo is Yacht Club's suggestion to wait for a figure to be available in one's location. Obviously, this is to avoid any issues with scalpers who can't really provide the in-game features of the figure until it is finally out in the buyer's territory.
Yacht Club also said fans shouldn't worry since they prepared enough for everybody and the stocks won't run out, which is another reason why it is best to wait instead of purchasing from scalpers.
