'Silicon Valley' Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers News: New Season Premieres April 23; Richard Quits?

The next season for Home Box Office's (HBO) "Silicon Valley" is coming on April 23. Just as the Emmy-nominated tech comedy is coming up with its fourth season, it springs a surprise for unprepared viewers. A teaser trailer has been released, and it opens with Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) saying, "Guys? I'm quitting."

Bertram Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) echoes the voice in viewers' heads as he says, "Wait ... What?" in his bored, grounded voice. "Wait what" indeed, as the YouTube trailer announces "This April," followed by what appears to be a preview of the overall theme of the fourth season. It's the rest of the crew: Gilfoyle, Dinesh Chugtai (Kumail Nanjiani) and Donald "Jared" Dunn (Zach Woods) looking out the window in varying states of disbelief while Richard looks on proudly.

The next scene looks to be Richard taking the name "Pied Piper" for his own use, and the team raises little objection. Well, there certainly are better names than "Pied Piper" and the crew is more than happy to leave the name in Richard's hands. What new scheme Richard plans to stick the name to, fans will have to watch the new season to find out.

Richard goes on about new ideas, maybe " we could build — a new internet," and like a reaction, Monica (Amanda Crew) shows up to say, "You sound like a crazy person." The focus this time seems to be more on Richard, and how he seems more unbalanced and obsessed about something that remains to be seen. There's no convincing him otherwise, though. "Oh my God, it's real," says Richard, perhaps referring to what could turn out to be another pipe dream.

Near the end of the trailer, though, it really does look like Jared is the one who's losing it for a bit there.

The teaser ends with the date of the premiere — Sunday, April 23 on HBO, as also confirmed by Deadline. Watch the season 4 teaser trailer for HBO's "Silicon Valley" below.
