Simon Cowell Hints at Future Marriage but 'Won't Watch' Baby's Birth
Simon Cowell is a soon-to-be first-time dad, but that doesn't mean he'll actually be in the delivery room when his son or daughter is born. However, he dropped hints that he may indeed marry the mother of his child, Lauren Silverman.
"I genuinely never thought [me being a dad] was going to happen," Cowell told radio host Ryan Seacrest. "Partly because I was scared of who I was going to have kids with… but Lauren and I get along really well and once I got used to the idea I thought, 'I think this is going to be very good.'"
Much has been made of the relationship between Cowell and Silverman, who is the soon-to-be ex-wife of Cowell's friend, Andrew. The couple separated shortly before it was revealed that she was pregnant with Cowell's child. Lauren already has one child with Andrew, a son named Adam. Yet Cowell hinted that he may soon marry Lauren, once her divorce is complete.

"Let's put it this way, I wouldn't expect her to be a single mother," he told Seacrest.
However, she may be on her own when in the delivery room. Cowell jokingly yelled, "Are you out of your mind?" when asked if he would witness his son or daughter's birth. "I know this sounds awful, but it's like you don't want to go into the restaurant while they're making your dinner. I think there are certain things you shouldn't see and that is one of them. I'll be close by, but no, I won't watch."
The couple has been out on a few dates and appear to be happy together. They went for a brief vacation on the French Riviera before returning to New York.
"I'm proud to be a dad," Cowell said at the premiere of One Direction's movie, "This is It." "It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel good about it. She's a very special girl. Things are changing in my life right now, for the better."
