'Sleepy Hollow' in Danger of Being Cancelled After Showrunner Quits
"Sleepy Hollow" is in danger of being cancelled after its showrunner, Marvin Goffman recently quit the show. His announcement comes at the heels of the recent end of the show's second season in February 2015. He is reportedly leaving Fox TV and moving to CBS to work on new projects in the next two years.
The show's first season was generally well received with very high ratings. Time Magazine included it in its 2013 list of 10 best TV shows. The report further said that "fans and critics alike praised the show's compelling characters, crazy mythology and big, fun, adventurous storylines."
Season two however was a different story. Fans were disappointed that some of the favorite characters in the show were relegated to the background and their new approach of introducing one monster a week was not working. It's not surprising that there is speculation that Fox may not renew it for another season. The renewal announcement for season two came within a month after the first season premiere.

While fans are waiting for the official announcement, ScreenRant reported that Fox is already looking for a replacement for Goffman. So there may still be hope if they find the right person. Fox officials, a few months back also shared their plans for the next season: "make it less serialized and lighter in tone."
"Sleepy Hollow" is an American supernatural drama series on Fox. It follows Ichabod Crane, an 18th century soldier and spy who died after he was killed by the Headless Horseman but rose from his grave after the Headless Horseman was summoned by some supernatural force to continue terrorizing the living. It is said that Crane's blood mixed with the Horseman when they killed each other, thus the connection. Crane works with Abbie Mills, a lieutenant in the local police, to investigate cases involving the Horseman and eventually other supernatural cases.
Its first season ran from September 2013 to January 2014. The second season on the other hand ran from September 2014 to February 2015.
