'Sleepy Hollow' News, Update: 'Fun Is Definitely Back' in Season 3; Image Promo Sees Ichabod In Prison Garb

Social media recently got wound up with some of the new updates for the upcoming third season of Fox's hit supernatural drama TV series "Sleepy Hollow."

Citing the report from Design & Trend, the show's official Twitter and Facebook shared to the public what appears to be an image promo showing Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) in handcuffs and sporting a recognizable orange-colored prison jumpsuit. Also seen in the photo is the guard's uniform patch that reads: U.S. Border Patrol.

Despite the scarcity of the details about the image teaser, fans can safely assume that Ichabod is in trouble at the border. As to where and for what reason, there's still no definite detail.

Meanwhile, new executive producer Clifton Campbell told Entertainment Weekly that Season 3 is definitely going to impress the viewers, bring back the old fans and make some new followers.

The way they did it is by implementing some "creative changes" and "moving the characters forward."

Earlier reports said the new season would be ditching the headless horseman storyline but this doesn't mean it will be filled with new loads of evil monsters and villains. There will be but that won't be the focus.

"We're not going to be as mythology-laden as the show has been in the past," the showrunner explained (via EW). "The fun is definitely back."

The EP further said that it is not their intention for the story to just settle in Sleepy Hollow, fearing that this might be the show's "antithesis."

What they will do here, among other plans, is to do crossovers. Followers may already know that there will be two crossover episodes (one for each show) that will be happening between the supernatural drama and with Fox's police-procedural series "Bones."

Campbell admits that the two are "totally different" from each other. But it's in the difference where the fun comes in.

"…we looked at that as a real opportunity, both from their side and from our side. Both shows work best when they don't take themselves too seriously," the EP said.

"Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 premieres October 1.
