'Sleepy Hollow' season 3 plot news: Going back to roots
With the lackluster sophomore season of the series "Sleepy Hollow," fans hope that the upcoming season will present a better story.
It was reported by TVLine that showrunner Clifton Campbell had shared details on the third season. He explained that the series will focus more on Ichabod, Abbie, and Jenny as opposed to the mythologies. Dana Walden, chairman of FOX, also explained that the upcoming season will bring it back to its roots. Fans will be happy to know that the series will revisit the vibe of the first season.
The second season ended on a sad note, featuring the death of Katrina and Henry. The departure of the two characters promises a new set of fresh faces in the series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It was confirmed that Lance Gross and Zach Appleman will now be among the regular cast. Gross portrays an FBI agent named Daniel Reynolds. Appleman plays Joe, the son of sheriff Corbin. He is a former Marine who works with Abbie, Ichabod, and Jenny.
Meanwhile, it was said that Nikki Reed, who previously starred in the "Twilight" franchise, will join the cast, along with Shannyn Sossamon of the hit series "Wayward Pines." Reed is expected to play Betsy Ross, while Sossamon will play Pandora. The titles of the upcoming episodes were revealed on SpoilerTV . It was reported that the season will start off with the episode titled "I, Witness." The second one will be called "Whispers in the Dark," while the third will be titled "Blood and Fear."
In order to spice up the series, FOX also revealed that it is planning a Halloween Special. This will include a crossover between Sleepy Hollow and "Bones." The special will be airing on Oct. 29, as reported during the Television Critics Association press tour.
Sleepy Hollow is expected to return with season 3 on Oct. 1.
