Slightly Mad Studios CEO Hints at Upcoming 'The Fast and the Furious' Game

Slightly Mad Studios could be working on a new racing game based on the long-running movie franchise "The Fast and the Furious."

This is at least what the company's CEO Ian Bell hinted in a recent question and answer (Q&A) session with Australian YouTuber SpotTheOzzie, who the Slightly Mad Studios executive joined as he played their latest offering "Project CARS 2."

While he did not say it outright, Bell provided a few clues that strongly hinted of "The Fast and the Furious" as the basis of their next game.

Guess what the latest "Need for Speed" game is doing, and have a think about which Hollywood film they're copying. And then I can tell you we have a six year deal with that major Hollywood company that'll beat what "Need for Speed" is doing. For the next six years.

Later in the stream, which ran for almost seven and a half hours, he elaborated more on the purported "The Fast and the Furious" video game project, this time seemingly referencing Dominic Toretto, the character played in the movies by Vin Diesel.

If you look at me, I'm a bald guy and I work out a bit. So that's a clue.

Despite providing a bit too revealing clues, Bell is still playing coy about the new game. He said that he is not allowed to say much expect that it is going to be "absolutely awesome."

Thankfully, it also looks like fans would not have to wait that long for the official announcement anyway, as the CEO said that they are "probably two, three weeks away from being able to mention" whatever they are working on.

Bell's remarks gave fans the impression that Slightly Mad Studios has never been more adamant in giving "Need for Speed," a racing game franchise by Electronic Arts, a run for its money.

He went so far as to say that "we have no respect for EA" after they allegedly scrapped "Shift 3" only a couple of weeks before Bell's team was supposed to start development. "I'll never do a deal with them again," he added.

While fans wait for the official reveal of the "The Fast and the Furious" game, they can first check out "Project CARS 2," which is now available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
