Another report also mentioned that the authorities were not able to find any identification cards or documents that could establish the victim's identities.

This is considered as the third suicide incident that happened within the SM Megamall premises since 2016. According to a different report, a 48-year-old woman who was identified as Madonna Guanzon also jumped from the fifth floor in February that year. This launched an investigation from the mall's management in cooperation with the police during that time.

SM Supermalls Senior Vice President Steven Tan issued a statement after the incident through Inquirer, saying, "A woman fell at Building B in SM Megamall. She was immediately rushed to the hospital by the mall personnel. The mall security and the local authorities are currently investigating the matter. We will cooperate for further inquiry."

Later that year, a freshman BS Physical Education student from Rizal Technological University named Jessa Lojo also leaped from the railings of the mall's fifth and tallest floor to end her life inside the mall.
