'Smurfs: The Lost Village' Release Date, News: Meghan Trainor's 'I'm a Lady' Music Video Confirms Village of Smurf Women

Ever since "Smurfs: The Lost Village" was teased, a lot of people were wondering what lies beyond the forbidden forest, which remains to be untouched. In the video for the film's soundtrack by Meghan Trainor, however, it looks like the speculations are coming to an end as it confirms the lost village's inhabitants.

In the music video for the song "I'm a Lady," Trainor is singing a new girl-power anthem as it celebrates femininity and the many possibilities ladies can accomplish. From playing football to being head honchos in the corporate world, the video showed nothing was ever a taboo domain for women, and that they should be proud of their distinction.

What's even more noticeable is how it finally gives a glimpse of the critters hiding in the forbidden forest — female Smurfs — just like Smurfette (Demi Lovato). It can be seen that Smurfette learns how to use a bow and arrow from a fellow lady Smurf while the rest are lifting weights, showing they can do what men can.

Prior the music video, many clues were dropped, hinting at a female cast to be added, Animation Magazine has learned. They include Julia Roberts (SmurfWillow), Ariel Winter (SmurfLily), Ellie Kemper (SmurfBlossom) and Michelle Rodriguez (SmurfStorm).

With even more star-studded members joining in the merriment, it's going to be a chaotic fun of epic proportions. Just how playful is it going to be? Another clip shows Smurfette, Hefty (Joe Manganiello), Clumsy (Jack McBrayer) and Brainy (Danny Pudi) acting all silly.

In the recent movie clip, the foursome decides to pass the time by playing what they call "Smurf-Boarding." Exactly what it sounds, they go down a slippery tree trunk in style. The first-person view makes it interesting to watch in 3D, so that will be something to watch out for.

"Smurfs: The Lost Village" arrives in cinemas on April 7, 2017.
