Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello Baby News: Plan First Child Via Surrogate?
Newly-engaged Hollywood couple Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have reportedly found a surrogate to carry their first biological child together.
"Modern Family" actress, Sofia Vergara and her fiancé, "Magic Mike" star, Joe Manganiello are said to be getting closer towards achieving their dream of having a child together. According to a report from InTouch Weekly, Vergara and Manganiello have located a likely surrogate and are planning to contract her services.
According to reports, the couple, who publicly announced their engagement in December last year after six months of dating, have reportedly been looking for a surrogate for the last two months, and have recently found a match meeting their requirements.
"It was hard, because Sofía wanted to make sure that the woman was someone she could trust," a source told In Touch Weekly during an exclusive interview.
The tabloid has declined to release the surrogate's name to protect her privacy and the privacy of the couple. However, it did reveal information that the chosen surrogate works in close proximity with Vergara and is friends with the 42-year-old Columbian-American actress.
"Sofía is friends with this woman and spends a lot of time with her," the source continued, "so she can watch the pregnancy firsthand as if it were her own."
Another insider further shared that the couple are excited to be parents, but the reasons behind Vergara contracting a surrogate to carry her and Manganiello's first child instead of having the pregnancy herself remain a "closely guarded secret."
In 2013, the actress revealed her plan to freeze her eggs in a bid to be able to have more children in the near future. She already has a 23-year-old son from her first marriage to high-school sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez when she was 18, while her current engagement is a first for 38-year-old "True Blood" werewolf, Manganiello.
