Sony Opens Pre-Order for PlayStation VR Bundle, Core Package Option Coming
The arrival of the PlayStation VR headset is coming very soon as Sony has already announced the opening for pre-orders of the starter bundle. Those who are interested to purchase one will have to hurry up though as slots are running out fast. According to PC World, retailers have started taking orders on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Eastern which is why some of the shops like Amazon, Walmart and Target are already sold out. Best Buy and Gamestop are still taking pre-orders.
The Washington Post detailed that the virtual reality headset starter bundle costs $500. It contains the PlayStation VR and its cables, PlayStation camera, which is required; two PlayStation Move motion controllers, which are required only for some games, and a stereo headset. The bundle is also readily packed with "PlayStation Worlds" which is a game that features five virtual-reality setting like underwater adventure and street-racing simulation.
Sony has also opened another option of pre-order after getting some feedbacks from fans. According to The Next Web, there will be a pre-order for a standalone PlayStation VR headset which means that those who already own the PlayStation camera and Move controllers will no longer have to purchase the whole bundle. The core package will only include a PS VR headset, PS VR cables, stereo headphones and PlayStation's VR demo disc. The package will cost $399 only.
Those who are looking into this will have to wait for next week, Tuesday, March 29. Sony will open it at 7 a.m. PT at participating retailers for limited slots only. Shipping will start by October which is just in time for the holidays. But for those who missed to grab a pre-order slot, Sony says that there is no need to despair as they will be releasing another wave sometime in summer.
Fans will have to stay tuned for updates.
