There has been a report stating that long-term use of the PS VR where it is placed at eye level can cause permanent eye damage. An eye expert told Mirror that the phenomenon of VR gaming among kids and young adults could increase the risk of short-sightedness myopia and serious eye problems among their generation.

The way the PS VR is designed to encompass both eyes can make it less used to daylight, and looking at a far distance can lead to myopia. The lack of air inside the device may cause dryness in the eyes as well.

Other Health Complaints for PlayStation VR
The PS VR headset reportedly caused headaches and motion sickness to those who have used it. When a group of writers from Engadget website played "Resident Evil 7", they experienced nausea and motion sickness.

Midway through playing through the demo of the game, the writer apparently felt something in their skin and stomach as their nausea continued. They complained of almost throwing up when they used the PS VR. They found out that many people have experienced the sickness they had that they coined it as "VR sickness".

Pinkeye Scare from Using PlayStation VR
Aside from possible severe eye damage and nausea while using the PS VR, another complainant from Destructoid said that using the headset increases the risk of pink eye. A pinkeye or conjunctivitis is a viral disease that causes redness in the eyes. According to WebMD, pinkeye can be caused by direct infection of a virus, dry eyes and allergies.

While the risk of getting pinkeye from a personal PS VR headset is smaller in comparison to the device that is being used by hundreds of people for demo, the outlet recommends to sanitize the device every now and then.
