Sony to Redesign A 'Made for Bond' Xperia Smartphone?
Rumors are circulating Sony may redesign a new Xperia smartphone as a special handset to be used in the latest Bond movie, "Spectre."
Sony's Xperia Z5 is reportedly getting a custom redesign for James Bond's exclusive use when "Spectre" hits UK theaters on Oct. 26 and U.S. cinemas on Nov. 6.
Leaked photos have made the rounds indicating English actor Daniel Craig, on his third turn as 007, will be using an as-yet-unveiled Sony Xperia handset.

The images reveal the device as the Xperia *5, with the pertinent letter blurred out before the number "5," and displays the Bond movie title "Spectre 007" at the bottom, ostensibly to market the handheld as having been specially "Made for Bond."
The device allegedly being marketed for the 24th Bond movie is thought to be a flagship smartphone from the Japanese tech giant, and is set to succeed the Xperia Z4, known as the Xperia Z3+ outside Japan.
Sony Computer Entertainment incidentally happens to be the parent company of Columbia Pictures, the same film production studio that will be distributing "Spectre."
According to GSM Arena, the Xperia Z5, which is set to be unveiled in Japan by September, will be powered by the as-yet-unreleased Snapdragon 820 chipset.
It is expected to pack 4GB of RAM, feature a fingerprint sensor system for owner recognition, and carry a 21MP main camera with Sony's in-house Exmor RS IMC230 CMOS sensor.
The Z5 is believed to have HDR capabilities, 4K video recording, and a 4,600mAh battery at the rear.
The new flagship phone is also rumored to be launched together with the Xperia Z5 Compact in September, just before the Bond film hits theaters.
Sony has yet to release any official statement regarding a new flagship handset, and whether the new smartphone will be the same device used in the upcoming 007 movie.
