Sony to Unveil Xperia S60 and Xperia S70 by Late Summer
Rumors have emerged Sony will be rolling out two new smartphones, the Xperia S60 and Xperia S70, soon.
Just over two weeks after Sony was planning to unveil its latest flagship, the Xperia Z5, in the fall, rumors surfaced that the Japanese technology conglomerate will be making it a trio with two new high-end mobile phones, the Xperia S60 and Xperia S70.
The two new upcoming smartphones will supposedly be simultaneously revealed with the Z5 by mid-August, possibly before the 2015 IFA conference in Berlin.
Not a lot of information about the two new flagship devices has been unearthed. However, speculation has been circulating that the Xperia S60 and S70 will be the first two models from Sony's new range of handhelds, succeeding the Z series.
According to Ubergizmo, European mobile phone dealers say they have inside information the handsets will be packing 32GB of internal memory, with the S60 coming in white, black, coralie and yellow variants, and the S70 available in white, black, green and gold.
The two new devices will reportedly cost more than the Xperia Z3+ and Z4, with the S70 speculated to range from between $850 to $920.
According to German publication WinFuture.de, none of the news released on the two high-end devices is yet official, and users will have to wait and see if and when Sony unveils the rumored smartphones the following month.
Apart from the limited information, no other hardware specifications have been released on the two vanguards from Sony's new Xperia mobile phone range. However, it has been claimed the Japanese smartphone manufacturer is looking to redeem its reputation after the Xperia Z3+ received negative reviews following the controversial overheating of its Qualcomm Snpadragon 810 chipset, according to Softpedia.com.
